Einstein’s famous equation tells us that mass and energy are the same thing.  Remembering that there is nothing mysterious about energy, it is merely motion. So we have to work out how motion  can be contained as individual units. Since what we call space is all that exists in our universe. It follows that space is the fundamental basis of mass and it is contained we suggest in spin. Spin is able to exist and turn in any direction and so is easily started and once begun lasts forever in frictionless space. A few millionths of 1% of space produce all the energy that exists, this energy produces a constant pull on space which we feel and see as gravity. Thus space is coming from all directions to earth and accounts for the cosmic micro background radiation without resort to a Big Bang.
